Short walk from JR Yosan Line Iyo-Komatsu Stn.
The temple was built according to the wish of Emperor Shomu (701-756).
During the 16th Century, it was destroyed and was not used, but later, the temple was restored in 1642.
In front of the gate, there stands the oldest stone monument of the Shikoku pilgrimage.
