This temple was founded during the 6th Century by Shotoku Taishi (573-621).
When Kukai came here, he found a pregnant woman who was in pain so he lit incense and prayed for her.
As a result a boy was safely born. This temple is widely known as `Koyasu Daishi`- Daishi of protecting children.
The modern concrete Main Hall is a unique feature of this temple.
